STUDENT’S ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN ABEOKUTA, ABIA STATE
ABSTRACT
This
work discusses the child labour and its effect on student’s academic
performance in Abeokuta, Abia state. A
hundred and twenty questionnaires were distributed among parents and teachers
from selected schools in Abeokuta, Abia state. Interviews and surveys were also
conducted.
Primary
and secondary data were used in the analysis. Tables and percentages were used
as the instrument of analysis
It
was observed therefore that child labour have a significant negative effect on
student’s academic performance. Also, there is a strong negative relationship
between child labour and student’s academic performance in Abeokuta, Abia
state.
