THE CAUSES AND IMPLICATION OF SELF-
MEDICATION AMONG PREGNANT WOMEN
ABSTRACT
This work discusses
the Causes and implication of self- medication among pregnant women. A hundred
and twenty questionnaires were shared amongst pregnant women selected states in
Nigeria. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.
Primary and
secondary data were used the analysis. Both frequency distribution and
regression analysis were used.
It was observed
therefore that self-medication has a negative impact on the health of pregnant
women. The general low standard and high cost of living in the country are
strong causes of self-medication. There is a negative relationship between
self-medication and the health-status of pregnant women.
The work is made
